This past week our element groups came together for a joint mission that was dubbed the “Call to Bare Arms for Kory.” One of our Wingmen, Kory Ford, has been battling leukemia and is in need of frequent blood transfusions. One of his element group members, Michael Peeks, organized a blood drive on his behalf. Many Wingmen stepped up and donated and many others showed up to support the initiative. There was a lot of laughter and fellowship. I asked John Carbonari and Michael Hogg, two element leaders to write about the experience and what it meant — not only to their guys — but to the community that saw Christian brothers coming together to help someone in need. The two following BLOG entries are from them.
I believe this event will have a lasting impact on all involved. Our prayers are with Kory and his family as he continues to battle this illness. A big thank you to Michael Peeks for seeing the need and taking the initiative. Wingmen making a difference.
